Founded in 1943 as the Salt River Valley Blood Bank in Phoenix, Arizona, today Blood Systems is one of the nation’s oldest and largest blood service providers. Our non-profit community blood centers, United Blood Services and Blood Centers of the Pacific, provide blood, blood components and special services to patients in more than 500 hospitals in 18 states, from California to the Gulf Coast, from the “Tip o’ Texas” to the Canadian border.

 

Blood Systems Research Institute is among the most respected and productive transfusion-focused programs in the world. The Institute is proud to produce some of the nation’s top transfusion medicine research by experts in such fields as transfusion-transmitted infections like HIV, HCV and HTLV; emerging infectious diseases like Chagas and West Nile Virus; and preparing stem cells for therapy.

 
Blood Systems Laboratories specializes in high-volume blood donor testing and infectious disease reference work. Our two national laboratories in Phoenix and Dallas test more than 2.6 million blood donations each year for more than 75 blood and tissue collection sites.
 

Through Quality Source, Blood Systems offers clients a comprehensive menu of solutions to improve quality while saving time and money.

 
Our BioCARE division distributes therapeutic biologicals and recombinant coagulation factors. We provide our customers with a full line of products such as albumin, coagulation factors, fibrin sealants, IVIG, and Rh immune globulin.
